Join us for an enlightening evening with Richard Skidmore, the former keeper of Gay Head Light, as he shares captivating stories and insights from his 31 years of guardianship over this historic beacon. Featured in the 2016 NOVA documentary, “Operation Lighthouse Rescue”, Richard played a pivotal role in the monumental effort to save the Light from erosion. During this special program, Richard will discuss the history of the Light and its iconic fresnel lens, both of which he’s written on extensively. Richard will also share videos and excerpts from his writings. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the mystique of one of our Island’s most cherished landmarks!
