“House of Bones” and Beyond – An Island Story

“House of Bones” and Beyond – An Island Story

Join us for a film screening and conversation with Award winning documentary filmmaker, Victoria Campbell who will share what inspired her to make her first film House of Bones. The documentary captures the sale of a beloved home on Martha’s Vineyard, a home that had been ruled by three generations of women, examining both the power of a gathering place and the fragility of losing that space. Old super 8 footage dating from the 1940’s up until the 1980’s is interwoven with the new footage shot in 2006. The house itself is a breathing entity, watching many seasons pass until its ultimate demise. One is left with the question: how much do the spaces that we grow from define who we are? Following the screening, Victoria will answer questions about the film and share extra scenes that did not make it into the original version.
