Avian Improv with Lanny McDowell and David Stanwood
Join us for a delightful evening of birds and piano music! A product of ongoing collaboration between David Stanwood and Lanny McDowell, “Avian Improv” pairs Lanny’s avian photo portraits with David’s spontaneous piano creativity to create an effect that is soothing, meditational, and inspiring. While the slide show of photographs capturing Island bird species plays, David interprets his reactions through his playing. After the conclusion of the performance, David and Lanny will take questions on topics including birds, birding, photography, pianos, and improvisation.
