End of North Water Street, Edgartown
Address: 121 North Water Street

Major renovations completed in 2007, including installation of a staircase to the lantern room, allow the interior of the Edgartown Light to be open to visitors. A lighthouse keeper will be available and the doors will be open during designated hours. Parking is available, but limited, on North Water Street. The Vineyard Transit Authority (VTA) busses drop off on Church Street in Edgartown. It is a 10 minute walk to the lighthouse from this location.

The Lighthouse will tentatively open in mid June for the 2021 season. All hours are 10am to 4pm. The Lighthouse will be open daily beginning June 26th through August 22nd. It will then be open Tuesdays through Sundays August 24th through September 3rd. Finally, it will be open on weekends September 4th through October 10th including Labor Day on September 6th and Indigenous Peoples’ Day on October 11th.

Please note, although masks are not required to climb to the top, we strongly advise anyone who isn’t vaccinated to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Lighthouse guides may ask families/pods to wait outside if there are already a few groups up on the Lighthouse deck. Please be patient as we try and make it the safest, most enjoyable experience possible for everyone.

The Children’s Memorial Ceremony of Remembrance is still scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 18th at 1pm, with a rain date of September 25th.
