Martha’s Vineyard Museum proudly presents Global Rhythms, our annual concert series that moves to the beat of connection, tradition, and discovery. Presented in partnership with MVYRADIO, the Island’s independent, nonprofit radio station, this vibrant series brings world-class musicians to the Bodman Courtyard at the Museum on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. Join us as these artists take the stage to share not only their sound, but the personal and cultural stories behind it.

THE LINEUP
Misfits of Avalon
Misfits of Avalon opens the series with a driving, high-spirited take on traditional Celtic music. Led by longtime Martha’s Vineyard musician Brian Weiland, the band blends Irish roots with Island-grown storytelling, moving effortlessly between lively reels, modern interpretations, and deeply felt ballads. Known for their tight musicianship and easy connection with audiences, Misfits of Avalon brings a sound that feels both rooted in tradition and fully alive in the present—setting the tone for a summer built on rhythm, community, and shared experience.

Kahoots
Kahoots returns for a rare performance, bringing with them the unmistakable sound and spirit of Martha’s Vineyard’s 1990s independent music scene. Founded by Rob Myers and Elisha Wiesner, the band became known for their genre-blurring style, prolific output, and fiercely loyal following. Now performing only occasionally, each Kahoots show carries the energy of both reunion and revival—an opportunity to experience a band that helped define a formative era of Island music and continues to resonate across generations.

Sol Y Canto
Sol y Canto brings more than three decades of internationally celebrated music-making to the stage, led by husband-and-wife duo Rosi and Brian Amador. Their sound blends Pan-Latin rhythms, jazz, folk traditions, and poetic songwriting into performances that are both intimate and expansive. Known for luminous harmonies and playful audience interaction, Sol y Canto creates a space where language, rhythm, and storytelling come together—inviting audiences into a shared experience shaped by joy, connection, and cultural exchange.
