How do I book a visit?

We are using a timed ticketing reservation system that gives hour long windows in which to arrive. You do not need to complete your visit in 60 minutes. We just ask that you enter sometime during that time slot.

I want to visit, but I don’t have access to use timed ticketing or am having difficulty registering. What do I do?

We can reserve a spot for you if you come directly to the campus without one, but your entry into the building may be delayed if the building is at capacity.

How much does it cost to visit?

Admission is $12 for adults and seniors. Children 17 and under and Museum members are free.

What are your hours?

We are open Tuesday-Sunday from 10am-4pm. Timed entry slots begin on every hour and extend for 45 minutes.

I’m a member. Can I just show up?

We very much appreciate your membership and recognize you receive unlimited admission, but we still ask you to reserve a timed entry slot.

I think I’m a member, but I don’t have my membership card. What do I do?

We will verify your membership using our online database when you book your timed entry slot. If you want to verify with someone over the phone, please call 508-627-4441 x126. You do not need to show your membership card when you visit. If you recently joined, we will be sending your membership cards soon, but you still won’t need them right now to enter.

I want to join as a member before booking my timed entry slot. How do I do that?

I booked a timed entry slot, and now I need to cancel/change it. What do I do?

Please call 508-627-4441 or email, and we will happily adjust your reservation.

What are the requirements for visiting?

Masks are required in all parts of the MVM campus for anyone 4 years of age or older. We ask that you follow the path laid out on the floor when you enter and keep six feet apart from other families/pods at all times. If you don’t feel well, have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or have travelled from out of state within the last fourteen days, you must adjust your reservation to a date later in the future. What will the capacity be when you reopen?

Massachusetts guidelines limit us to 40% of our legal occupancy. From 10am to noon, occupancy will be limited to 12% of our legal occupancy to allow immunocompromised individuals or those who just feel more comfortable visiting when capacity is more strictly reduced to visit. From noon to 4pm, occupancy will be capped at 31% of legal occupancy.

I just want to visit the outdoor installations. Do I need a timed entry slot?

You are welcome to visit the outdoor campus any time from sunrise to sunset. Please note that our sprinklers may come on before 10am and after 5pm. Enjoy!

What safety precautions have you taken?

In addition to limiting capacity and mapping out a specified one-way route throughout the building that encourages social distancing, we have installed a number of hand sanitizing stations throughout the building for public use. The entire building is thoroughly cleaned daily with high-touch areas cleaned at least three times a day. We have also upgraded the filters in our HVAC system to the highest rated MERV-13 available. Health and safety will remain our top priority going forward.

What will be open in the Museum?

For a list of our current exhibits, click here. In addition to these exhibits, the Museum Shop will open with limited inventory. The First Light Café and Hands-On History gallery will remain closed for the foreseeable future. We appreciate your understanding and hope to reopen them at some point soon.
