A fresh look at the unsolved axe murder of grocer William Cook Luce at his store in downtown Holmes Hole (now Vineyard Haven) the night before Christmas Eve, 1863. Join us on Thursday, October 30th, as Chris Baer leads us through the investigation of the crime scene, examining the three leading theories of the murderer’s identity, and help us become better acquainted with the darker side of island life in the early 1860s.
