Everyday Life in the 18th Century: A Tour of the Cooke House

Everyday Life in the 18th Century: A Tour of the Cooke House

What’s so special about a house like this one? The Thomas Cooke House, built in 1766 and occupied until the late 1920s, witnessed profound changes to everyday life on Martha’s Vineyard while generations of Islanders called it home. Join historian Norah Van Riper for a special guided tour inside one of the Island’s oldest houses, exploring how daily life evolved from before the American Revolution through the Roaring ’20s.

Please note: We regret that the historic Cooke House is not ADA-compliant and cannot accommodate mobility aids. This program is presented in historical costume from a modern perspective.

MVM Members: $15; Non-Members: $25
