Soup and Sandwich Talk: Susan Silk
February 26 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm$10
The League of Women Voters of Martha’s Vineyard and the MV Museum are making history and honoring history by co-hosting an afternoon tea for the island’s “Women in Public Service” on May 31st. This year – 2020 – marks the 100th anniversary of the enactment of the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote. Voting, electing, serving on committees and doing the jobs in our towns all came a result of that struggle and enfranchisement. The League’s year-long celebration called “Honoring History/Making Progress” is creating first-time partnerships like this one with the Museum. Learn more about women in public service and the plans to honor them this year from Susan Silk.
$10 includes soup, sandwich, and admission to Susan’s talk.
