Stories from the Anthropocene with Dr. David Foster – Virtual Program

May 4 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Scientists refer to our current geological epoch as the “anthropocene,” a reflection of humans’ immense and growing power to alter nature. Our need to think deeply, and carefully, about change has never been greater. But what is the role of history when thinking about our changing climate? Join Dr. David Foster in a virtual program in conjunction with our current exhibition: Nature and Change where he will be discussing how history – and Museum collections – offer important clues about our Island’s future.

David Foster is the Director of the Harvard Forest, Harvard University’s 4000-acre laboratory and classroom, and author of six books including A Meeting of Land and Sea: Nature and the Future of Martha’s Vineyard.

MVM Members: Free; Non-Members: $5. Register here.
