More Than Bait & Tackle: Pete Sliwkowski
For generations of Island anglers, Larry’s Tackle Shop has been a place to swap stories, gather local knowledge, and prepare for the next trip out. Owner Pete Sliwkowski brings that perspective to Legends of the Line, along with years spent fishing the Derby and living within the Vineyard’s year-round fishing community.
Sliwkowski will share stories from behind the counter at the Edgartown institution, which has served fishermen since 1947, as well as reflections on the characters and traditions that make the Derby endure. The conversation will also explore the connection between public beach access, conservation, and the future of an Island fishing tradition passed from one generation to the next.
