(SOLD OUT) Mid-Winter’s Glow: A Talk & Tasting
Mid-winter has always been a moment to slow down, gather, and look ahead to what’s coming next. Join us on Thursday, February 5 for our Mid-Winter’s Glow Talk & Tasting, as we explore how cultures represented in our Island community have marked this season through food, tradition, and shared celebration.
We’ll touch on mid-winter traditions including Imbolc and Celtic celebrations that welcome the returning light, Tu B’Shvat, the Jewish New Year for Trees, Sabbath traditions centered on rest and reflection, and Lunar New Year celebrations that honor luck, prosperity, and new beginnings.
Along the way, guests will enjoy simple, meaningful tastings connected to these traditions—locally sourced cheeses (including feta from Mermaid Farm), challah from Orange Peel Bakery, fruits and nuts, citrus, and dumplings—plus a few festive take-home surprises like Chinese New Year fortunes, a pink tealight, gemstone, and sunflower seeds.
Warm, casual, and designed for connection, this evening is an invitation to come in from the cold, share food and stories, and celebrate the small signs of light that carry us through the heart of winter.
This program is currently sold out unfortunately we can not accept any walk-in purchases.
