Join the Museum in welcoming “Martha’s Vineyard Living Legends (MVLL): Black, Indigenous, People of Color & Immigrant Elders Oral History Project” for a special video and panel presentation celebrating the voices and life stories of the Island’s BIPOC and Immigrant elders, as told to Vineyard high school and middle school student-interviewers from 2017 to 2026.
The program, sponsored by the MV Diversity Coalition Education Committee and the Association for the Study of African American Life and History-MV Branch will feature “Ancestors, Influences, MV Connections,” a short video compilation of excerpts from 15 elders. The screening offers a powerful intergenerational, multicultural portrait of Vineyard history and community, and will be followed by a panel discussion sharing different perspectives on this ongoing project and its impact, including an opportunity for audience questions.
This program is free and open to the public.
