Introduction to Clay: Creating Small Animals with Washington Ledesma

Introduction to Clay: Creating Small Animals with Washington Ledesma

Slow down, warm your hands, and discover the quiet joy of making something by hand this winter at the Museum. In this welcoming, hands-on workshop on Saturday, January 31, artist Washington Ledesma introduces participants to clay—its feel, its possibilities, and the many ways it can be shaped and formed.

Guided step by step, you’ll design and create your own small clay animal, exploring imagination and technique in a relaxed, supportive setting. No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to play.

Make a day of it by visiting the First Light Café, open throughout the workshop and serving food and hot beverages. More than a class, this is a chance to gather during the colder months, share creative time with others, and leave with a one-of-a-kind piece made by you—a small animal that carries the warmth of a winter afternoon well spent.

MVM Member: $40; Non-Member: $50; Includes all supplies and instructions.
