Hearing the Movies: The Life of John Williams

Hearing the Movies: The Life of John Williams

A Book Talk with Author Tim Greiving

Join the Museum for an evening with biographer Tim Greiving, author of John Williams: A Composer’s Life, for a rare look at one of the most influential composers in film history.

Known for his privacy, John Williams has long avoided official biographies, making this book unique. Williams met with and consulted directly with Greiving, offering insight that shapes the most intimate and authoritative portrait of his life and work to date.
From Jaws and Star Wars to E.T. and Schindler’s List, Greiving explores the music, discipline, and creative process behind the scores that defined modern cinema.
