In this special performance, acclaimed New York City guitarist Joel Harrison and saxophonist and vocalist Stan Strickland join forces with master drummer Robby Ameen to explore and celebrate the deep intersections of Latin and jazz rhythms. Known for their boundary-pushing work across jazz, improvisation, and global music traditions, this ensemble brings decades of professional artistry to the stage. They are joined by Wes Nagy on keyboards and Chico Huff on bass, completing a dynamic lineup of seasoned musicians. JOEL HARRISON is a New York–based guitarist, composer, and bandleader known for his adventurous, genre-crossing work in jazz and contemporary music. A Guggenheim Fellow and Doris Duke–supported artist, he has released a wide range of critically acclaimed recordings as a leader and collaborated with major figures across jazz, classical, and global music traditions. His work is recognized for its bold compositional voice and innovative approach to the guitar in modern jazz.

STAN STRICKLAND is a saxophonist, vocalist, and composer whose career spans jazz, world music, and improvisation. A Berklee College of Music faculty member for many years, he has performed internationally and collaborated with leading artists across jazz and experimental music. Known for blending saxophone, voice, and spoken word, his work bridges genres and traditions with a deeply expressive, global sound.

CHICO HUFF is a bassist and composer with more than 40 years of professional experience spanning jazz, folk, rock, and contemporary improvised music. Largely self-taught, he began performing professionally as a teenager on Martha’s Vineyard, learning in live settings alongside seasoned musicians in fast-moving, improvisational environments.

Over the course of his career, he has toured and recorded extensively across the United States, Europe, Japan, and Morocco, collaborating with artists including James Taylor, Carly Simon, Dr. John, Terrance Blanchard, Jefferson Airplane, Solas, and many others. Known for his deeply musical, responsive approach to the bass, Huff is a sought-after collaborator across genres and performance settings.

ROBBY AMEEN is a Grammy Award-winning drummer and percussionist widely recognized for his mastery of Afro-Cuban jazz and Latin rhythms. A longtime member of Ruben Blades’ band, he has also performed and recorded with major jazz artists including Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Lovano, Don Byron, and Arturo O’Farrill. Known for his innovative fusion of jazz drumming and Afro-Caribbean traditions, Ameen is a defining voice in modern Latin jazz.

WES NAGY is a keyboardist, composer, and producer with deep roots on Martha’s Vineyard and an active career across jazz, funk, and contemporary music scenes in New York and beyond. He has worked in a variety of live and studio settings with a wide range of artists and ensembles, contributing to jazz groups, touring projects, and recording sessions across genres. Known for his musical versatility and sensitivity as a collaborator, he continues to bridge Island roots with a broad professional performance career.
