Global Rhythms: Peter Halperin and the Group Therapy Band

Celebrate the vibrant cultures that shape our Island community through music and storytelling. Each week, world-class musicians take the stage to share not only their sound, but the personal and cultural stories behind it. Join us Wednesday evenings this summer for a series that moves to the beat of connection, tradition, and discovery.

THIS EVENING’S PERFORMANCE: Peter Halperin and the Group Therapy Band offer a musical experience that deeply resonates with the soul of Martha’s Vineyard. Drawing from decades of island living, Peter’s songwriting reflects themes of introspection, community, and the natural beauty of the Vineyard. Performing at venues like Woodstove Studios, a community space he founded in West Tisbury, the band brings together local musicians to create a sound that is both intimate and expansive. The ensemble features Jeremy Berlin on keys, Jim Orr on bass, and Tauras Biskis on drums, blending folk, blues, and Americana to capture the essence of island life and invite audiences to connect with the land and sea. Each performance is a celebration of the Vineyard’s rich cultural tapestry, offering a space where music and community intertwine.
