Global Rhythms: Jim Thomas Spirituals Choir

Global Rhythms: Jim Thomas Spirituals Choir

Celebrate the vibrant cultures that shape our Island community through music and storytelling. Each week, world-class musicians take the stage to share not only their sound, but the personal and cultural stories behind it. Join us Wednesday evenings this summer for a series that moves to the beat of connection, tradition, and discovery.

THIS EVENING’S PERFORMANCE: Join us for a heartfelt celebration of the life and work of Jim Thomas, beloved founder and director of the U.S. Slave Song Project Spirituals Choir. Experience powerful live performances of traditional Spirituals by the choir he created. This educational group preserves and teaches the songs once used by enslaved people to communicate. View moving photos and videos capturing Jim’s life, legacy, and impact. Hear a brief tribute sharing his story and lasting contributions. This public event invites all to remember, learn, and be inspired by Jim’s extraordinary legacy.

Tickets: $20 per person; Season passes available; Gen Z is FREE (bring ID)
