From Jaws to Awe: How the World Moved from Fear to Fascination

From Jaws to Awe: How the World Moved from Fear to Fascination

An Evening with Wendy Benchley

Wendy Benchley was there as Jaws became a cultural phenomenon. But the decades that followed were every bit as remarkable. A lifelong diver, ocean advocate, and partner to Peter Benchley in life and in conservation, Wendy spent more than forty years exploring the world’s oceans, working with National Geographic, influencing marine policy, and helping change the way the world understands sharks.

Returning to the Vineyard, Wendy shares the personal journey behind that transformation, and the legacy she and Peter built together. As executive producer of the Emmy-nominated Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story, and someone who helped shape the legacy beyond the film, Wendy offers a perspective that is both deeply personal and uniquely her own.

This isn’t another Jaws anniversary talk. It’s the story of what came after… and why it still matters.
