Discover Inner Peace: A Book Talk on Refining the Mind

Discover Inner Peace: A Book Talk on Refining the Mind

Summertime on Martha’s Vineyard offers a chance to slow down and reflect. Join us for an uplifting and inclusive book talk on Refining the Mind: The Transformative Process of Buddhism by Lama Jigme Rinpoche. On Sunday, July 13, everyone is welcome—regardless of background or beliefs—to explore practical tools like mindfulness, kindness, and compassion that can help cultivate a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Lama Jigme Rinpoche, a respected teacher in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, provides relatable guidance on recognizing and transforming mental habits that often lead to stress and dissatisfaction. His teachings emphasize universal principles aimed at personal growth and inner peace, rather than promoting any particular faith.

This book talk holds special significance for the Martha’s Vineyard community. The Bodhi Path Buddhist Center in West Tisbury, founded in 1999 by the 14th Shamarpa, Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche, has been a local haven for meditation and self-discovery for over 25 years. The center’s nonsectarian approach aligns with the inclusive and practical wisdom presented in Rinpoche’s book. bodhipath.org
