Ancient Blue: A Hands-On Indigo Workshop for All Ages

Ancient Blue: A Hands-On Indigo Workshop for All Ages

Why join this Indigo Dyeing Workshop?
Because it’s more than just making something beautiful—it’s about connecting with the natural world, learning an ancient art form, and creating lasting memories.

Step into the world of indigo, one of the oldest and most captivating natural dyes, in this hands-on workshop led by environmental steward Rebecca Gilbert and artist Emily Auchincloss. Grounded in sustainable, earth-friendly practices, this experience connects tradition, craft, and the living landscape.

Working with both processed indigo and fresh plants grown on Rebecca’s farm, you’ll uncover the surprising range of colors this powerful, storied pigment can produce.

You’ll leave with not only two unique, hand-dyed bandanas, but also a deeper understanding of natural color, slow craft, and the joy of making something with your own hands. Whether you’re coming to learn, to bond with a loved one, or simply to try something new, this is a chance to pause, create, and connect.

Admission: $60 per person; includes supplies, instructions, 2 completed items to take home, and light refreshments.
