Scope and Content of Collection

The artificial collection contains clippings, correspondence, estate records, genealogies, invitations, marriage records, notebooks, obituaries, pamphlets, pedigrees, pensions, publications, research notes, signatures, vital statistic records, and wedding announcements pertaining to Vineyard families. The collection is predominately genealogical research notes thought to be created by Harriet Marshall Pease. Also, some of the materials are related to Vineyard families but originate in Nantucket and other Massachusetts towns and have been separated from the Martha's Vineyard materials in the collection.

Arrangement

The collection is arranged alphabetically by family name followed by general genealogical materials arranged by geological location.
