Biography/Historical Note
Margaret G. Eppley was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1904 to Everett Eppley (1875-1919) and Caroline Eppley (1875-1919). At age 15 Margaret moved to Rochester, New York, to live with her uncle and aunt, Herbert and Lydia Landsdale. She attended Rochester University, Northeastern University, and Boston University. Eppley had a long career teaching in Cincinnati, Ohio; Natick, Massachusetts; and finally in Hartford, Connecticut where she retired in 1968. After retiring she moved to Edgartown, Massachusetts. Margaret G. Eppley died in 1991 at her home on the corner of School Street and Davis Street.

The scrapbooks contain random articles of interest to Margaret G. Eppley about Martha’s Vineyard including historical pieces, famous residents, and tourism. Margaret G. Eppley started her scrapbooks after purchasing her home in Edgartown and there are also articles about her home and its visitors.
